John Rowles Ready to Perform

March 27 2009

ICONIC Kiwi singer John Rowles is back on his feet again and ready to say thanks to his fans for their understanding and support of his decision to leave Dancing With the Stars due to health issues.

A rested John has had two weeks of treatment for blood pressure related problems and has recovered to the point where he is confident of proceeding with his tour of provincial New Zealand in May.

Planning for this tour had been in the pipeline since last year’s successful ‘THE SINGER & THE SONGS’ tour of major cities and the promoter had held off making any announcement until he was certain of John’s health.

“Dancing with the Stars had taken John out of his comfort zone on a physical level,” says promoter Layton Lillas of Showcase Entertainment Group. “It had posed real and serious risk to his health. Performers are naturally competitive people and only the most competitive can boast the longevity of John’s career so pulling out of Dancing with the Stars was one of the toughest decisions he’s ever had to make. I think fans understood my decision.”

”He has been flooded with calls and cards from well wishers and by resuming the work he knows best, he can say thanks to all those people who have supported him.”

John says all he could think about was staying well for his young sons. “I had to think about the boys’. But I am back to full health now. I’ve taken the time to rest and recuperate and I’m 100% back to my old self!”

John’s concerts will allow fans to get up close and personal with New Zealand’s greatest treasure. The tour will start at Whangarei on May 3 and continue through to Invercargill on May 15, taking in nine venues. Tickets are on sale now.
